Warm-Up/Physical: 10x20 yards

1 ball, pinnies, 6 cones

see diagram for set-up approx (6 cones/3 players and a ball)

Instructions:

Player A passes the ball to B (1) who checks in and passes back to A (2)in the position where player A moved. B moves after passing to A, to create a triangle with A and C. C moves as well. After receiving the ball, A makes a long pass to C (3) who is in a triangle position with A and B. Repeats. Make sure the 3 players are constantly in a triangle shape.

Progression: use non-dominant foot only, ball in the air (use a pug net as an obstacle)

Coaching points:

Passing: 1. Fast, sharp and accurate passes 2. Eyes on the ball, use both feet 3. Pace, timing, weight of the pass 4. Communication

Receiving: 1. Body behind the ball, attack the ball 2. Body position, check shoulders 3. Eyes on the ball, 1st touch control 4. Communication

area: 2/3 of a 1/4 field

cones, pinnies, balls, as per diagram

Instructions:

GK distribute the ball (on the ground) to player 1 who makes a pass to player 2. Player 2 playes a short pass to player 3 who lays it off for player 4. Player 4 passes to player 5 who lays it off for player 6who makes a long pass to player 7. Player 7 receives the ball, dribbles to the gate and shoots the ball at the target (net). Players are follwing their passes and player 1 is replaced by another player from the baseline. After player 7 takes the shot, goes to the baseline. Repeat.

fast, sharp and accurate passes

eyes on the ball, use both feet

pace, timing, weight of the pass

body position, check shoulders

set up per diagram 7v7 with target players (T)

Instructions:

on the pitch there will be 6v6. Players combine in the defensive end until they have a chance for one player to dribble in the attacking half and play a 4v4 (using the target player), to score on the net. Only the player with the ball can go in the attacking half. He can always go back in his own half to keep possession. If the possession is lost he must go back in his half

Progression: instead of dribbling the ball, the players has to pass the ball to one of the attacking players in the other half, before joining in to make a 4v4

Can score only of they combine with the target (T) player

Coaching points:

movement of the ball, passing and receiving as above. Principles of playe: attacking-disperse, defending-get compact

communication: verbal - "turn", "man on", "hold"
