Dynamic Flexibility Warm (10 mins)

Cones laid out 20meters in length (can be extended in width to accomodate number of players in squad.

Start on one side and perform the following (Where stated it is back and forwards or otherwise only one width)

Arm roll and Jog

Spotty Dog

Walking on balls of feet (x1)

Walking on heels (x1)

Sideways walking on balls of feet - crossing feet

Ankle flicks

Small skips

Knee out skips

Knee across skips

High knee skips

Lateral running (x1 left / x1 right)

Forward lunges - Hip Flexor stertch (rotation) (x1)

Backward lunges - as above (x1)

Hurdle walk 1:4 ratio

Russian Walks

Walking hamstring stretch

Carioca (50% - 100%)

Space Invaders (50% - 100%)

Pair up: hands on shoulder - side foot into back of net (leg across body)

Hand on shoulder - straight leg leg swing (engage the glutes)

Scrum Stretch

Firemans grip stretch

Lumberjack wrestle

Sit up progression (5 mins)

Coach feeds to keeper that is static on floor lying flat arms out stretched. Coach feeds to keeper as comes up into sit up position Keeper takes ball with 'W' catch, holds for second, throuws back to coach and then goes back to starting position. Repeat for set number of times.

PROGRESSION: Coach feeds with two balls alternating the sides to which keeper has to take ball. non-stop movements. Make sure keeper throws ball back to coach aiming for center of coaches chest.

ALTERNATE: Two keepers sit facing each other and interlock legs at knees. Players sit up together at same time passing the ball between them.

Don't let ball touch floor (5 mins)

Area set up 10m x 10m

Coach and keep work in pairs moving around area quickly. Coach holds ball and drops ball - keeper has to use foot work and hands to save ball from touching floor.

This should be a rapid session for 1 minute with the keeper having to dive in the proximity of the coach who only really touches the ball briefly to make the saves, progression can be that not only ground saves be made but also throw in high balls. 

3 x 1min (if there are more keepers then pair up!)

Scoop / W / High progression (5 mins)

Keeper starts on cone 1 and advances to position 2 and receives feed from coach first with 'W' Catch - returns ball top coach and goes back to cone 1.  You can use this to do not only 'W' catches but scoop catch and high catch etc.

PROGRESSION: Keeper starts from cone 1 and moves towards Server 1 to take scoop serve then passes ball back to server 1. Keeper back-pedals to cone 1 and then out to coach to take a 'W' catch and then throw back to coach and backpedal to cone 1 and then out to server 2 and takes a high catch and back to cone. 

Repeat 3 times and then change keepers.

Reaction Turns (5 mins)

Keeper stands facing away from coach. The coach is 6 yards away. On the call 'Turn' from the coach, the coach fires in a volley towards the keeper, but in between the poles, On the command turn by the coach the keeper turns and saves the ball feed by the coach.

PROGRESSION: Keeper and coach set up as before however the keeper now has the ball. The keeper feeds the ball through his legs on the floor in a purposeful manner to the coach and turns to receive the ball which will be driven in by the coach.

Coaching: Consider good technique. Any parry must be followed up and collected in.
