Warm Up (15 mins)

Description: Players form 2 lines. Both begin at the same time and jog from the first cone (A) to the second cone, lines then turn and run with high knees diagonally across the square so that both lines cross each other. Both lines then perform the same dynamic flex back to the starting position (A). The drill is run twice for each stretch.

After stretching sequences are complete replace the jog, high knees, dynamic flex with variations of jog, sprint, and walk to elevate players' heart rates and body temperatures.

Combining in final third (15 mins)

Chance Creation

Players pass and move in central area of field. Every 5 passes, the player with the ball passes out to player A, B, or C and joins an attack. A, B, C, and the passing player then combine to create a crossing or shooting opportunity within 10 seconds. The passing player then switches places with the player (A, B, or C) that they passed to and the exercise restarts.

- Communicate (One-Two, Overlap etc.)

- Shots from distance - give laces instruction (Head, knee over the ball, toe down etc.)

- Finishes - inside of the foot, open hips to target, ankle locked etc.

Progress to adding defensive pressure.
