Passing Practice semi opposed (15 mins)

Semi opposed passing practice (7/8 v 3/4) - 30x20 areas (6 x 10x10 boxes)

Key points

- Ball circulation (rhtyhm) - minimal touches

- Body shape to turn or protect

- Awareness of other attackers and defenders (pressing or passive - set or turn)

- Angles of support / distance and speed of support

- Pass appreciation - safe side / fast or slow / flat

- Risk vs reward of forward play - constantly looking to play forward and be progressive but picking the right moments (retained possession)

Set up

- Reds free to move into any grid - they must try to avoid being on the same line and a player cannot receive in the same box as another attacking player (2 touch).

- Whites can move across into but are limited to two grids

- Yellows on one touch (circulate) can play to each other

Transition challenge - roles change if defensing side on a regain can hit a yellow off first or second pass

with a forward pass (not backwards)
