Main Theme1 (20 mins)

Organization:

2 teams ( attacking vs Defending )

Instructions:

coach pass the ball to the player who make the run to receive and try to turn and beat the defender to score.

defender apply immediate pressure as the ball is travelling.

Coaching Points:

Creating space – movement away from the ball

Checking to the ball (2 moves, 1 for defender, 1 for ball)

Open body shape

Timing and quality of pass

Checking shoulder as the ball is passed

Taking the ball on the front foot (Closest to ball)

Distance / direction of the touch based on the next action (this is based around where the defender is)

Decision making once full pressure is added (back foot or front foot)

End product

Main Theme2 (25 mins)

Instructions:

2 teams playing 2 vs 2 in each half

players cant pass the middle line to the other half

players attempts to pass the ball to any of the 2 strikers who will try to receive the ball, protect it and turn to score or pass it to the other striker.

Coaching Points:

Creating space – movement away from the ball
