Technical Warm Up: (15 mins)

Pattern 1:

Players follow their pass around the outside of the diamond in number order in competitive environment.

Pattern 2: 1-2 middle players (A/B) who receive from 1 and play to 3 and then pass down one side, follow your pass and go down opposite side next pattern.

Pattern 3: players in the middle combine and have free play but must play to the top to finish and passing player follows.

set up area relevent to players and age with target goals and a target player for each time on opposite line.

teams start by keeping possession and scoring point by playing into target player for a point. target player then returns ball to opposite team for them to attack.

Progress:

once played to a target player, team must support and receive the ball back and dribble/pass to target through a gate. Any player can receive the ball, if possession is lost they must replay to target.

Function:

set up area suitable to players and age, with two target goals.

attacking team play 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11, against defending team of back 5, 6/8, 10.

coach serves ball into red team to score, have to play to number 9 before crossing line.

If defending team win the ball, every player must touch the ball to win and switch over.

If they keep possession and score, they can give a forfeit.

Progress: have to play through a gate

Q:why would you play inbetween the lines/unit? A: to play forward/draw defenders in for forward movement
