After each return pass, the central player must receive the next pass across the "half way line".

All technical aspects of passing & receiving.

Scan after each return pass to assess the next pass in.

Progression

Vary the service to take some balls off the floor.

Counter or Stabilise (30 mins)

Organisation

Pitch layout as shown. Approx 60 x 40 in total with a 4 yard end zone and a 10 yard area in front of that.

Either side of the half way line split into 4 channels. (I use these boxes to try to speed up ball movement, move the ball out of the box within 3 seconds if possible).

How to Play

6 v 6 no restriction on touches.

Try to play a runner into the shaded area (he can be tracked).

Score by taking the ball into the end zone.

Possible Coaching Points

Recognising opportunities to counter (when you outnumber the opposition, when you have space to run the ball, when you get runners in behind etc)

Recognise the need to stabilise (when opposition have good organisation, when your attack gets held up, no support ahead of the ball etc)
