Screen 1

Organization: 3 channels.

Instructions: Player on the end line is looking play into the attacker and defender is trying to prevent the turn. Player on end line can't cross the line. Attacker also can only pass back to team mate twice. Defender is looking to keep attacker facing there own goal. Defender wins if ball goes out of bounce or wins the ball.

Coaching Points:

Win the ball!

- Angle, speed and distance of approach

- Deny penetration

- Deny space, get touch tight

- Do not over commit

- Create 1 vs.1 scenario - isolate an opposition attacker

- Channel outside near goal, inside/outside in opposition half

- Recognise when to press, when not to press

- Read body language of 1st and 2nd attacker

- Decision based on ball carriers first touch/foot

- Select appropriate tackling technique - block, poke, slide

- Feint to challenge, encourage loose touch

Organization:

Instructions: 5v4. Ball always starts from the feeder on the attacking team. Attacking team going to goal and defending team going to counter goals. Teams must stay within the zone. If defensive team win the ball they have 10 seconds to score

Coaching Points:

-Communication- Who will press

-Movement off the ball when someone preeses

-Can we win the ball early?

- Angle, speed and distance of approach

- Deny penetration

- Deny space, get touch tight

- Do not over commit
