Instructions:
- Build up play using patterns as shown for a cross
Coaching Points:
Runners:
- Time runs to 1st post, 2nd post and penalty spot on visual cue from crosser ( when crosser looks down to cross)
- Keeping eye on ball and Judging speed and height of the ball
- Angle of Approach
- Taking the ball at the correct height to get the best possible strike on the ball
- Use any surface to strike
Crosser:
- Look up to observe GK and choose runner, low to first post, Back pass to penalty spot, High cross to second post
- Placement of non-kicking foot to help the ball stay low (closer to ball) or higher (slightly behind)
- Contact on ball to ensure ball stays at correct height

4. Long free leg swing, straightening on contact.
5. Contact the ball with the inside of the instep and a firm ankle.
