The area is set up 40 x 30 yards with a half way line splitting into 2 x 2x30 sections.

The red team play length ways and have a Target Player at each end and the blues play width ways with a Target Player at each end. This creates a 5v4 for the reds per half and a 6v4 for the blues.

The aim of the game is to link 4 passes before a switch can be made. The reds switch to the opposite Target Player, as shown, and transition to that area as quickly as possible. The blues, on completion of their 4 passes move across areas. This can be a diagonal switch from Target to Target or a through ball with the support and transition of all players including Target Players.

Rotate Target Players and also direction of play.

To progress on receiving the ball a Target Player can drive in an be replaced. Both teams will be set up as a Diamond 4 in midfield. Blues are replicating playing forward to #9 and back to #5. Reds are replicating switching from #2 to #3.

The middle line is now removed from the previous practice. Two goals are added to the end areas facing outwards. There is a safe zone between the central playing area and the end zone with the goal in.

The teams are set up 1v1 in each end zone and 4v4 in the middle. The ball starts in the middle and there must be 4 passes (end zone players can be used) before an attack can be started. To start an attack following the 4 passes an End Zone Player must receive the ball in their area or Safe Zone and combine with a Central Player entering the End Zone who must finish within 2 touches and 5 seconds. If 5 seconds elapses the team must re-enter the Central Zone and restart their 4 passes.

Rotate End Zone Players. This can happen naturally with the flow of the game or they can be designated players for a period of time.

Remove End Zone players and place all players in the Central Zone. Again, to create a goal there must be 4 passes and one linked pass in the End Zone but players must recognise where and when to make the runs into the End Zones.

The goals are now turned around and the players play 6v6. They play 3 x 5 minute games. The game is called "The 1 Up Game". A team can never be more than a goal ahead. If they go a goal up they must retain possession to see the game out. After 5 minutes there will be a winner and the game re-starts.
