Dribbling (15 mins)

Session Objective: Dribbling warm up.To improve dribbling skills

Organisation:

Ball each.

Discs arranged around all of training area in lines of three , with each disc about a foot from each other.

Players begin by moving around whole area and then taking ball in and out of a group of three cones and then on to another group and so on.

Vary tasks with ball - use right foot to move through discs,left foot,right then left,sole of foot etc.

Extension - once through discs,execute turn before going through next set of discs

Extension - go through first two discs,turn and then through other side,then execute turn

Extension - go through line of discs and then perform dribbling skill before going through next set of discs (one scissor,two scissors,beardsley,move,slow,go again etc).

Dribbling (15 mins)

Session Objective: To improve dribbling attitude

Organisation:

1v1. One player (e.g.A) plays to partner (B) who comes on to ball positively and tries to dribble past A,who is passive.Five goes each then change.Vary techniques used to dribble past.Repeat but other player is now active and opposes dribbler.Five goes each then change.Change opponents after a while.

Rotate players to play against each other

Dribbling (15 mins)

Session Objective: To develop positive attitude to dribbling

Organisation:

Two lines of players each side of goals,no goalkeeper

1 plays to 2 who then attacks goal and has to try to dribble past 1 ,After doing so he returns to back of line he came from,

Repeat 4 to 3 ,then line 2 plays to line 1,2 to 4 and so on so every player either dribbles of defends.

Extension - start as originally 1 playing to 2 then play 2v2 so two players from each side join in.serve alternate ends.

Emphasize movement off ball by player not receiving to create options for other plater who tries to use a dribbling skill to get through

Dribbling frenzy (15 mins)

Session Objective; To improve attitude towards dribbling and dribbling skills

Organisation:

Players numbered each side of goal.Server calls out number and players on each team with that number run to ball server has deliveredand play 1v1.Must dribble past opponent to score

Extension - call out two numbers to create 2 v2,three numbers 3v3.
