The Passing Y 1 (10 mins)

Cones are laid at 5-10 yards apart.

Player 1 passes to 2. Then goes to that spot and will get ready for next player in line.

Player 2 receives and turns and the passes 3.

Player 3 then plays a wall pass with player 2.

Next player in line with the ball will do same thing but play goes the opposite direction.

Check the shoulder to see if space is open (information).  Always scan for information.

Progressions:

1) Types of Receiving turns (Inside/Outside and 180)

2) Chip Pass

3) Increase Distance to work on longer passing

Coaching Points:

Proper weight of pass

Good first touch

Touch into space to pass

Open the hips to play simple

Receive across the body, use a half turn

Good and quick movement to support/overload area

Head up Checking shoulders/Good awareness and vision

Develop a habit of always looking around

The Passing Y 2 (10 mins)

Player 1 passess to 2.

Player 2 passess the ball back to 1

Player 1 passess to 3.

Player 3 plays a wall pass with 2.

Play is reversed towards player 4 next.

Check the shoulder to see if space is open (information).  Always scan for information.

Progressions:

Passing Y 3 (10 mins)

Player 1 passes to 2.

Player 2 passes to 1.

Player 1 passes to 4.

Player 4 passes the ball to 2.

Player 2 passes to 3 who is making a run forward.

Player 3 receives and dribbles towards end of line.

Player 3 plays a wall pass with player 2 and then dribbles to end of line.

Passing Y 5 (10 mins)

Player 1 passes to Player 2.

Player 2 pases back to 1.

Player 1 passes to 4.

Player 4 plays a wall pass with player 2.

Player 4 then passes to the over lapping player 2.

Player 2 then plays a through ball to player 3 and then dribbles to end of line.

Progressions:

1) Increase Distance to work on longer passing

Passing Y 6 (10 mins)

Player 1 passes to Player 2.

Player 2 checks away and comes in to receive and turn to pass to Player 3.

Player 3 checks away and comes in to one touche the ball back to Player 2.

Player 2 then sends a through ball for Player 3 who spins out and makes a forward run.

Player 3 then shoots on goal.

Players follow their pass and shooter retreives the ball and goes to beginning.

Play would go the opposite direction then.

Progression:

1. Play a Chipped pass into the box.

Coaching Points:

1. Passing and Receiving (Chipped, Aerial, Across Body, Inside/Outside and 180)

2. Check Away

3. Striking

Passing Y 7 (10 mins)

Player 1 passes to Player 2.

Player 2 checks away and comes in to receive and play the ball back to Player 1

Player 1 then passes to Player 3

Player 3 checks away and comes in to one touche the ball to Player 2.

Player 2 then sends a through ball for Player 3 who spins out and makes a forward run.

Player 3 then shoots on goal.

Players follow their pass and shooter retreives the ball and goes to beginning.

Play would go the opposite direction then.

Progression:

1. Chipped ball into the box.

2. Extend the starting distance so Player 1 must Ping the ball into Player 3
