Technical warmup (10 mins)

Organization: in a grid 15 by 15. Players do exercise (open up hips, close up hips, high knees, hill flicks, side steps, crossover steps and etc.) in between cones. Then receive the ball from the server and dribble in the end of the line.

2 groups will be running in parallel.

4 grid game (15 mins)

Organization: 4 grids 12 by 12 m. 3 teams of 4(5). Play 4v2 in one grid. 2 other players waiting in the middle area. 3-d team spread out in 3 other boxes. When ball is played across to adjacent box supporting players must quickly join player in possession and defenders (white) switch.

If team (red) loses possession and white managed to play the ball to next box, then 2 red defenders go and defend, 2 other red players go inside middle zone and white team spread out to support. 

- Unlimited touches;

- 5 passes in the grid after can play into next grid;

- throw ins from side line

Progression:

- Touch in the 4v2 - unlimited for 2 when win possession to play te ball to next box.

- Directional defending - defend progress towards your goal as priority, channel to the side line

Coaching Points:

- Speed of approach;

- Body position;

- Angle of defending;

- taking away passing line;

- Pressure and cover;

- Transition;

5 intervals – 2.5 minute 0.5 min active rest/coaching.

SSA 6v3 plaus 6 (20 mins)

Organization: in a box 30 by 30 m. 5/6 (white) player play against 3/4 (red). When 3/4 red players win the ball they play possession 10 v 5/6 using outside players. Outside players can play to each other but have only one touch.

Coaching Points:

- Red team inside must keep the shape and move as a unit to hunt opposition down in the confine area to win the ball.

- White team when defending must block passing lines to red and double up when ball played inside.

6 intervals of 3 minutes 0.5 rest/transition - switching position of the players.

Progression:

allow 1 player to go in the wide areas to press the outside players.

when white players win the ball must attack the goal.

ESSG 6v6 game with goals (35 mins)

Organization: in the area 30 m by 30 m 6v6 game with the goals.

5v5 inside middle zone. Objective to play the ball in the end zone - where players have one touch to finish on goal.

Progression: 2 attacking players and 1 defensive player can player can go into end zone. 

4 intervals of 4 min 1 minutes rest. Coach on the flow and in the rest time.

 Coaching Points:

The same as before.

channeling -pressing to win the ball for the counterattack.
