Pass from midfielder is triggered by strikers movement.

Winger does not start run too early.

One-two by striker needs to be good.

Strikers Movement

Once the one-two has been played, the striker needs to get himself in the box along with his strike partner to try and score from the cross that will be coming in from the winger.

The strikers need to make some movement around the central Red cone to confuse potential defenders.

.

Key Points:

Strikers need to communicate with each other to decide on movement.

One needs to go front post, the other back post.

Create movement around the Red cone to confuse defenders.

Progression 1

Progression 1 is to add a defender.

The defender will go with the striker when he moves away from goal for the one-two, not to tackle or intercept, but to just apply some game-realistic pressure to the striker.

The defender then gets back in the box along with the two attackers and tries to defend the cross and stop the attackers scoring.

.

Key Points:

Striker's one-two still needs to be good while under pressure

Can the two strikers get away from the defender with their movement

Can the midfielder pick up any clearances from the defender and shoot

Progression 2

Progression 2 is to add a second group of midfielders by splitting up the original group.

This will create triangles of passing and movement.

The midfielder who plays the first pass will be the one to go and support on the edge of the box.

The midfielder who plays the through pass to the winger will drop back into his group.

.

Key Points:

Both sets of midfielders need to be alert

Creates game realistic triangles of play

Players need loads of communication to make sure correct passes and runs are made.
