Warm Up (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 20x20 grid set up as shown

2. One ball per grid with additional if needed

3. One grid per 5 players

Instructions:

1. Player 1 dribbles the ball to the yellow cone then passes to Player 2.

2. Player 2 receives the ball on their back foot and dribbles to the yellow cone then passes to Player 3.

3. Rotation continues with each player receiving and passing for an allotted amount of time.

4. Players will the switch direction on coaches command.

Coaching Points:

Running with the ball

1. Positive first touch out of the feet

2. Play with the laces of the foot closet to the ball

3. Fewest number of touches to cover the distance quickly

4. Run in a straight line

5. Smaller touches as the space becomes less

Passing - Push (Inside)

1. Angle of approach – center

2. Supporting foot is next to the ball pointed at target

3. Head up observe your target

4. Contact ball - middle

5. Contact foot - inside

6. Ankle locked with toe pointed up

7. Follow through towards target with striking foot remaining open throughout

8. Body weight over the ball

9. Weight and accuracy of pass

Receiving - On Ground (Inside)

1. Receive with furthest foot from the ball

2. Slight hop onto standing foot on contact to prepare for next action

3. Receive with the toe pointed up and ankle locked

Progressions:

1. P - Add another ball

2. R - Players dribble length and do not pass.

Main Theme (30 mins)

Organization:

1. 20x20 grid set up as shown

2. Split team into groups of 3

3. One grid for every two groups

4. One ball per player per group

Instructions:

1. Each team is trying to knock the ball out of the middle and into the opposing team's area.

2. Each team also trying to knock the two balls on cones outlining the opposing team's area off.

3. This is done by each player passing the ball from their team's area to the center and/or opposing team's area.

4. Game is won by knocking the two balls of the cones and knocking the ball in the center of the field into the opposing team's area.

Coaching Points:

 Passing - Push (Inside)

1. Angle of approach – center
