Warm Up (10 mins)

Organization:

1. 20x20 area set up as shown

2. One ball per player

Instructions:

1. Players juggle the ball using different surfaces dictated by the coach

2. Rotation

a. Thighs Only

b. Feet only

c. Right Foot, Left Foot, Bounce

d. Combination, cant use the same surface twice

3. Each round is 2 mins long

Coaching Points:

1. Body positioning

2. Correct body/foot surface

3. Drop the ball, do not throw it in the air

4. Can you keep the ball at eye level

Progressions:

1. Competition - the most is allotted time with specific surface

Main Theme (25 mins)

Organization:

1. 30x20 field

2. Goals (2)

3. Separate players into two teams

4. Multiple Balls

Instructions:

1. Each team begins with a goal keeper in goal.

2. Team 1 begins the round by passing the ball into Team 2. Two players from Team 2 step onto the field creating a 2v1. If Team 2 scores a goal they earn 1 point. If the player from Team 1 wins the ball and scores a goal, the team earns one point. If the ball goes out of play, no point is scored.

3. As soon as the ball is shot or goes out of play, a two players from Team 1 step onto the field with a ball creating a 3v2. Which ever team scores, earns a point for their team.

4. As soon as the ball is shot or goes out of play, a player from Team 2 steps onto the field with a ball creating a 3v3. Which ever team scores, earns a point for their team. If the ball is played out of bounds the round is over.

4. Each team has one minute to score a goal or no point is earned. Each rotation of players is a round. At the end of the round the goal keeper is switched and the players switch positions as well.

5. Players will play for 10m, get a drink, switch sides and play for another 10m.

Coaching Points:

1. Counter quickly on transition before opposition can organize

2. If counter is not optional maintain possession

3. Maintain width and depth when attacking

4. 2nd attacker to offer support

5. 3rd attacker to play away from the ball or make attacking run in behind

6. Combine tactics from 1v1, 2v1, 2v2 and 3v2

7. Play at speed

Conditioned Game (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Field set up as shown

2. Team 1: sets up in a 2-1-2

3. Team 2: Sets up in a 2-2-1

4. Multiple Balls

Instructions:

1. Teams must stay in formation. Goal keepers will switch every 2 minutes.

2. Each team will play for 6 mins with a condition then switch conditions and formations.

Coaching Points:

1. Individual and group decision making about where to play the ball to relieve pressure on the ball.

2. Team shape

3. Support in attack

4. Creating and using space

5. Passing and receiving

Progressions:

1. Open Play - no restrictions
