Teach basic dribbling techniques to develop player confidence in 1v1 situations.

Using same area. spread 16-Players (each with a ball) around all four sides as shown above.
i) On coach's command, all players must dribble across to the other side of the area and back.
ii) Address dribbling techniques
iii) Have players dribble one way with left foot and back with right foot.
iv) Introduce take on skills; scissors, sole roll, fake, shoulder drop, Maradona etc. to be performed each way.
Coaching Points
1) Dribbling Technique: Ball in front but close, knee bent, head up, arms out and at speed.
2) Ball Mastery: Foot skill ability to avoid collisions, perform take on skills and keep control of the ball.
3) Speed: Can the players perform the above techniques at moderate game speed?

Same set up as PLAY: Part 1, but move the goals back off the field. Play 4v4 to end lines. Score by stopping ball in end zone. 4-min games. Rotate opponents
i) NO Restrictions
ii) Must take 3 or more touches on the ball
iii) Can't pass backwards
iv) Lift restrictions.
Coaching Points
1) Awareness: Are players playing with their heads up? Seeing the field and dribbling opportunities??
2) Decision Making: Are players choosing good times to dribble or dribbling all the time?
3) Creativity: Are players willing to take risks, use their skills to create goal scoring opportunities?

Coaching Points
Observe how players dribble the ball? Look for body position to receive, 1st touch, acceleration speed, ball skill mastery, awareness of 1v1's, confidence, etc.
