Juggle/Dribble/Dynamic Stretch (10 mins)

Warm Up:

Use dribbling skills and juggling skills to get the players moving and within their skill work incorporate dynamic stretching to prepare their bodies for the upcoming training session.

Partner Work (20 mins)

Working with a partner, work through receiving out of the air techniques by Player A tossing the ball to player B who receives the ball, controls it to the ground, then passes it back to Player A. Complete 10 repetitions then switch who tosses.

Techniques to work on:

- Inside of foot

- laces from driven toss

- laces or cradle from lofted toss

- thigh

Coaching points:

-Meet the ball out of the air

-Firm surface

-Footwork to get in line with ball

-get ball to ground quickly

-cushion the ball

Receiving flighted ball partners (20 mins)

Have 7x7 yard boxes that are 10 yards away from each other. Each player has a partner and partners will stand across from each other inside their 5x5 box. Parntners will throw the ball in the air to the player who will recieve the ball tries to control the ball and keep it indside their box.

Techniques to work on:

- Focus mainly on the inside of food and recieving with laces.

Coaching points:

- Meet the ball out of the air (Before it bounces)

- Present the surface you want to use to control the ball.

- Cushion ball to ground ball to ground quickly by pulling foot backwards slightly as ball is about to hit foot.

- Footwork to get in line with ball.

4 v. 2+2 (25 mins)

Use a 40x25 grid with a 7 yard zone in the middle. Divide players into three teams with four players per team. One team in each zone. The team in the middle is defending, two players are allowed to leave the zone to go pressure the team of 4 that has the ball. While the other 2 defending players try to intercept the pass across. Team on the outside is trying to connect a minimum of 2 passes before they play a long ball pass to the other team of 4 on the opposite side of the grid. Once a team loses the ball, they become the defending team. Any time the ball leaves the grid, it is a throw-in for the closest, non-defending team.

Coaching Points:

- Focus on recieving.

- Players must anticipate where ball is coming from.

- Track flight of ball.

- Footwork to get in line with the ball.

- Present surface to control ball.

- Cushion to ground quickly allowing team to keep posession.

11v11 Scrimmage (15 mins)

Use some variation of a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 as system of play.
