Warm up - ball control (10 mins)

Organization:

- full gym, 12-16 players

- cones, balls, pinnies

Players start without the ball, jogging , forward , backward, sideways, skiping etc for 5 minutes.

Then each player with a ball, start dribbling the ball around the area,performing different moves, feints at per coach request ( toe taps, foundations, rolls, cuts, turns, scissors, fakes) - 10 minutes

Coaching points:

- movement, look for space

- lots of touches on the ball

- ball close to feet

- make it fun

1 v 1 moves (15 mins)

Organization:

3 lines marked by the cones as in diagram, with 10-12 m, between cones.

2-3 players in each line, only first player in line has a ball.

Players dribble ball to Blue cone at same time from both ends and perform a move ( fake, scissors, roll etc), in front of cone, with same foot , then pass the ball to team mate at oposite end, joining the end of that line. Work on L and R foot

Coaching points:

- dribble with speed, look for defender in front

- lots of touches, ball close to feet, time and space to perform the move

- accelerate after making a move

1 v 1 to 3 v 3 (30 mins)

Organization:

- set up as per diagram

Play 2 games 1 v 1, to 2 gates ( Yellow vs White; Red vs Blue).

One player is passing the ball to oposite line, player receive and start attacking to score, while passer try to steel the ball and score in other 2 gates.

Progresion: split in only 2 teams and play a 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 ( free -15 min)

Coaching points:

- good first touch, look for space

- attack the space behind the defender.

- decision making( when is good to make a move, turn etc)

- accelerate after the move
