Using a 20-yd diameter circle; 6 players on the outside with a ball and 6-players in the center.
Players in the center; check to the ball - receive the ball - dribble to a different outside player - pass the ball to that player - go back into the center of the circle and REPEAT.
1) Check directly (square) to outside player - head check - use inside/outside hook to turn
2) Check at an angle (side on) to outside player - head check - use front foot to receive the ball
3) Dribble across the circle using laces (speed), inside/outside (Direction) or sole (avoid colleague)
4) Once dribbled to colleague, stop the ball with sole & switch positions. IE, they come into the center without the ball and you stay outside with the ball.
Coaching Points
1) Body Position: Do the players check in with their body in a strong position to receive the ball? Check-In to the ball at speed, head check and receive the ball with a soft positive touch?
2) Spacial Awareness: During head check process, do players see the space & open player to pass to and attack that area with the ball?
3) Technique: Do the players show proficiency in handling the ball in tight areas with players around them?

Warm Up (15 mins)
12-Players with a ball each in a 30yd x 20yd area;
i) Dribble around the area using either foot, utilizing all 10-surfaces. Incorporate 11+ stretching
ii) Teach Inside & Outside foot chops, Step Over, Shielding and Head Checking skills
iii) On coaches command (call Navy or White), player's color called must leave their ball and try to steal a ball from the other color's team. IE, "White" called, so Whites must try to steal Navy's soccer ball.
iv) Give each player a pinnie to "tail" into the back of their shorts. On coaches command "GO", players try to steal (grab) pinnie from other players whilst keeping possession of their soccer ball (after 20-sec STOP, they dribble around. IF your 'tail' is taken, you are out. As numbers decrease, decrease the space until you eventually have a winner.
Coaching Points
1) Body Position; stand upright with knees bent, head on a swivel, leg extended to make contact with the ball, knee over the ball & arms out for balance.
2) Contact on the Ball; Are players able to perform the skills taught? Is their touch soft and with correct part of the foot?
3) Shielding; Do players head check to see danger and use their body as a shield to avoid showing the ball to an opponent, whilst dribbling away from them?
