1) Receive with back foot. (May need to spend a lot more time on this than anything else.

* can start off just receiving with back foot and then playing to opposite line and following pass. Player who passed it in goes into the middle to receive from opposite line.

2) Outside foot turn. Turn to outside of cone and then pass to next person in line.

3) Inside foot turn across body

B. Turning U11-U12's: 2 Balls going.

Turns w/ Pressure (15 mins)

Turning & Shielding w/ Pressure:

1) Sheidling: partner up and have players work on shielding that ball from each other. Can start with limited pressure form defender. 3 x 30 seconds each. Last two sets full pressure.

Coaching Points: Low center of gravity, shield with arm not back, wide base. Player between ball and defender.

2) Turning with Pressure

- Have to turn and dribble across the line.

- U9's: have receiving player start a few yards up. Defender comes out to defend 1v1 once offensive player touches the ball.

- Keep Track of how many times you successfully dribble across the line. Top Three performers don't have to do fitness.

Coaching Points: How can you create enough separation? What's our body posture? How can you be more successfull in this?

Back to Goal Game (20 mins)

Back to Goal Game: North Carolina

- This is duel with your back to goal. The Receiving player touches the post, when ready check to the ball on an angle - When she leaves serving player plays it into path of her run; defender from other post comes to defend - 2 vs. 1. Player who passed it can join the attack.

Progression:

1) If you choose to play the midfielder in, the next defender can go in to make it 2v2.

2) Every pass you play the next defender and attacker enter the game.

Competition: Attackers have to score 5 out of 10. Losing team does fitness. Switch position of players.

Coaching Points: 1)If defender is checking hard without slowing down, cut it against the grain.

2) Only pass when you have to. If you keep passing, more defender's come into play.3) If you keep passing in the attacking third, more time for more defenders to come. 4) Use your 1v1 ability to carve and finish. 5) most dangerous player is the one who can be the most successful in this game. 6) Finihsing angle is better if you go inside.
