Warm-UP/Technical Reps (25 mins)

Organization:

Teams divided into two or three depending upon numbers, 10 soccer balls, area set up as shown

Instructions:

Normal SAQ, Dynamic stretchs warm-up

• Players in the middle of the area are in pairs, each pair has one ball.

PART 1

Player 1 dribbles until they can find an open player on the outside, player 1 players the the outside player, who plays the ball to player 2, the process then repeats.

PART 2

For the progression, player 1 plays a double pass with the outside player while player 2 finds an angle of support.

Coaching Points:

• Angle of Support - Ensure runs are in areas able to receive a pass.

• Timing and Movement of Run - Make run as previous pass is made. This will allow teammate to see run and play pass early.

• Communication - Call for ball early. Can use commands like 'hold' 'give' to inform team-mate when you want pass played.

• Application of technical skill, weight, accuracy and type of pass.

Main Theme/Unopposed (20 mins)

Organization:

Instructions:

Player "a" takes a touch in either direction to start the play, as player "a" takes the touch, player"b" checks away and back to the ball. Player a passes to player b who sets the ball back to player a. Player c starts their movement as the ball is travelling back to player "a" Player "c" moves toward the square and player "a" passes the ball into the space for player c, after c receives the ball in the box, they can go to goal. "a" rotates to "b" who rotates to "c" then back to "a"

• Timing of the run

• Direction of the run based on space, pressure, teammates

• Awareness of end product as making the run

• Quality of passing (timing, weight, accuracy)

• Awareness of receiving players

• • How-using differnt short to mediium passing techniques

Progressions:

P-Defender from opposing team added to rotation now player "b" spins off to the inside and makes a supporting run into the box. Defender begins on player b, if defender wins the ball they can score on the pugs for 2 points. Play games to 5 points.

Main Theme-Fully Oppposed (25 mins)

Organization:

40 x 40 yard area, with 2-5 yard endzones on either side. Players divided into two teams

Instructions:

• 3 v 2 in each half, Each team is trying to get the ball to their target player to get a point (if angus and peter or will are there target players will be GK's) 2 of the supporting players from the defending half are allowed into the attacking half to support.

Coaching Points:

Angle of Support - Ensure runs are in areas able to receive a pass.

Timing and Movement of Run - Make run as previous pass is made. This will allow teammate to see run and play pass early.

Communication - Call for ball early. Can use commands like 'hold' 'give' to inform team-mate when you want pass played.

Choice of pass foreward - Be sure to assess the space and area team-mate is running into. This will allow the player to assess whether to play into feet, as well as get accurate weight on the pass.

• When- at the point in which double pass can draw defenders in to open space on the flanks for the 7 or 11, 2 or 3 to complet run into space

Conditioned Game (25 mins)

Organization:

Field divded as shown, all the soccer balls start with the coach at the botom of the area

Instructions:

Wide area channels represent neutral players. In the middle players play 5v5, White team attacks the large goal to start off with and the blue team attacjs the two small goals.

• Timing and Movement of Run - Make run as previous pass is made. This will allow teammate to see run and play pass early.

• Communication - Call for ball early. Can use commands like 'hold' 'give' to inform team-mate when you want pass played.

• Choice of pass foreward - Be sure to assess the space and area team-mate is running into. This will allow the player to assess whether to play into feet, as well as get accurate weight on the pass.

• Where-in the middle third, moving centrally to wider area

• Why-to explot a defense that has shifted over or to exploit space on the flanks
