Warmup (30 mins)

Organization:

In a 30x40 yard grid, each Player with a ball.

Instructions: "The One Bounce Juggling Challenge": Player starts the juggle with 1 bounce, then takes 1 touch; then lets the ball bounce again, then takes 2 touches; then let's it bounce once again, then takes 3 touches, etc. If the player messes up the sequence, then they start again at 1. Challenge players to set their own new record

Coaching Points: Players try to improve their touches (suppleness, control and foot-eye coordination) by juggling with different surfaces of their feet & body

Passing Reps (30 mins)

Organization: 25x25 6players

Instructions:

Players pass and follow around the sqaure

Players play the ball then receive to play across to opposite player.

Coaching Points:

Speed of play ( Quick and sharp demanding the ball getting players engaged and ready for session)

- Weight of pass

- Check to receive

- Timing of check

- Receive on correct foot

Double Pass (20 mins)

Organization:

15x25. 3 Groups running at same time

Instructions:

Player A plays to Player B

Player B sets Player A who plays straight pass Player B who makes a diagonal run.

Player A moves to Player B, Player B now plays same combination with Player C.

Coaching Points:

- Quality of pass (weight and accuracy)

- Opening out and receiving on back foot

- Quality of set to next player (taking weight off the ball)

Double Pass (Semi-Opposed (20 mins)

Organization:

15x25. 3 Groups running at same time

Instructions:

Player A passes to player B

Player B Checks to side and plays double pass in behind Player C with Player A

Player B turns and drives into space

Player C shuts the door and player B uses Move to beat Player C

3v3 Opposed (20 mins)

Organization:

30x25, 4 Teams of 3 - 2 Teams are resting

Instructions:

Players play 3v3 and cant enter the opposition half until at least 2 opposition enter the half.

Coaching Points:

- Be patient

- Looking to draw opposition out with double pass

- Looking to penetrate when created gaps between defensive lines

- Getting under the ball as the ball travels.

4v4 Game (30 mins)

Organization:

4v4 (2goals or 3 Mins) 3 Teams of 4.

Instructions:

Players split into 3 teams of 4 and play 3 mins or 2 goals.

Coaching Points:

- 3 Lines of Attack

- Creating diamond (give angles of support)

- Making diamond a big as possible (Creates space)

- Identifying any numbers up situations
