Acitivities 1 & 2 (25 mins)

Set Up - Kids sit on line between cones. 10+ tall cones spread out on field on their side. 2 to 3 Pugg Goals at far end.

Activity #1 - Back to the Ocean - Kids are welcomed to "Soccer Beach" and have to help Coach clean up seaweed (pinnies) by scooping them up w/ their feet to hands and then running down to Puggs / Ocean to put away (picture not available thru session planner). Players then are asked to help coaches make sand castles w. their feet. Kids will follow Coach demo and help wake up / stand up sand castle tall cones w. arms out for balance and foot on top.

Progression #1- Kids given a ball / dolphin each. Must perform Soccer Position (1 foot on top), ball / taps, hug w/ both feet, etc... then dribble / "little kicks" through & around sandcastles to the blue ocean / Pugg Goals where they can use a big kick / shot to score. **recycle balls as needed!

Progression #2 - Players will be given another attempt (either bring all balls back, or bring goals to other side) but this time Coach will act as defender applying light defense and challenging players as needed. You want kids to go FAST here, but do not intimidate!

Activity #2 - Sandcastle Smash - Kids will be asked to dribble / little kick their balls over to any sandcastle and use "big kicks" to knock them down. Coaches will recycle cones as needed to provide ample opportunities. Game lasts until all cones are knocked down. Stress getting close to the cone for ball control! Kids can pick up or kick cones to goals to help transition!

Coaching Points:

- Keep the ball close!

- Use age appropriate language -> "little kicks" = dribbling "big kicks" = shooting

- Use big kik when close to goal / ocean & cone / castle

If player hits coach, coach will toss out a pinnie / seaweed for player to collect. Coach Players must retrieve bal if it gets away. Coach can run slow / fast and allow all players to have opportunity to shoot & hit target. Game is over when coach is out of seaweed.

Progression:

- Coach gives pinnies to all players. Players will now dribble w/ pinnie in hand while coach tries to put his/her foot on player's ball. If succssful, coach will take pinnie run it down to goal... player must dribble down to get their pinnie back.

Final Game: Split your players into 2 even teams with Pugg goal at each end. Play for 15-20 mins until the end of time allowed. NO RESTARTS! All balls served into play by Coach. Freeze play when ball goes out of bounds. Have clear touch / end lines! NO GOALIES! NO SET POSITIONS!
