2 defender's (Red) & 1 receovery runner (A/B) v 4 attacker's (Blue).

30 x 40 yard area.

Start - Feeder (Yellow) plays ball into attacker's.

First touch activates defenders & recovery run.

Decision making of A or B which nis most appropriate to join defending team.

Coaching Points

Decision making A or B.

Travel quickly before attackers organise.

Angle of approach.

Priority (who, where).

Pressure when appropriate.

6 defender's v 5 attackers (D's 1-3-2/ A's 2-2-1)

Central area marked by cones.

2 goals at opposite end.

Start - Play ball into GK who kicks long into A3/A2, opposing team work to score.

Coaching Points

When to press/ when to cover.

Win the ball as quickly as possible.

No pressure/ drop, narrow, be compact.

Make play predictable.

Pressure on ball/ press as a team, win it.

1. D7 moves quickly as play changes and applies pressure to stop the forward pass/ movement/ attack.

2. D4 & D11 press to compact space.

3. D9 applies lateral pressure, forcing play forwards.

Secondary

1. D5 presses up and marks outside shoulder of A9, negating channel.

2. D2 presses to provide cover for D7.

3. D3 slides and provides cover & balance for D5.
