Warm up (10 mins)

Organization:

- 30x20 yard area

- One ball between two players

Instructions:

- Player react to the call of the coach.

- As the coach claps, the player in possession of the ball, finds the location of his/her partner and passes to him/her before running into space.

- Receiving players gets ball and dribbles around the area.

- Coach may also call numbers which go along with actions learned in previous weeks.

Coaching Points:

- Keep ball close to ensure quick reactions to the coach's call.

- Keep head up when dribbling as to not crash with other players and also have an idea as to where your partner is.

Passing and Receiving (25 mins)

Organization:

- 10x10x10 yard area

- 3 players to an area

Instructions:

- Players pass the ball around the area and look to prepare their pass with their 1st touch.

Coaching Points:

- Weight and accuracy of passing (back foot, speed of pass)

- Beat defender (cone) with 1st touch

- Use of double pass

- Creation of space

Progressions:

- Players now follow their pass instead of staying at the same cone.

- Instead of passing directly to target, players pass to break the line (in space).

Preparing the ball (25 mins)

Organization:

- Set up as shown in image.

Instructions:

- Player "A" passes to player "B" who now receives in such a way to prepare the ball for a pass in the space for player "C".

Coaching Points:

- Weight and accuracy of passing (back foot, speed of pass)

- Receiving on the back foot

- Creation of space and timing of run

Progressions:

- Use of the double pass where players "A" and "B" performs a double pass resulting in player "A" making the pass to player "C".

- Player "B" becomes a defender after player makes the pass to "C" creating a 1v1 situation.
