Ball Mastery and attacking moves (20 mins)

INTENSITY: Moderate - high ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 8-10

Activity:

1.Basic FIFA 11+ warm up

2. Footskills

- Players perform different footskills in marked area - inside and outside, toe taps, soccer boxes, drags.

3. Move onto Attacking Moves.

- Large cone are defenders. Players dribble at the same time and perform the attacking moves at the large cones. Repeat with left and right foot.

a) Side-step Fake

b) Scissors

c) Step Over

Coaching Points:

1) Close control

2) Use all surfaces of the foot

3) Keep your head up and use periheral vision

4) Beat the defender, accelerate into open space.

Mirrors (20 mins)

INTENSITY: Moderate - high ACTIVITY TIME: 15-30 secs REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 25

Activity:

- 1 v 1

- Attacker dribbles at the defender, performs attacking moves and attempts to score by stopping the ball in between the cones to the left or right.

- Defender is just shadowing. The attacker or defender are not allowed to go past the white line.

- Keep rotating positions each rep.

Scoring:

- 1 point for getting ball to end line

Coaching Points:

1) Aim - can you put your opponents off balance.

2) Close control

3) Short opposite movements to create a yard of space.

4) Identify the space and accelerate into it

- Attacker dribbles at the defender, performs attacking moves and attempts to score by stopping the ball in between the cones at the opposite side

-Keep rotating positions each rep.

Scoring:

- 1 point for getting ball to end line

Coaching Points:

1) Aim - can you put your opponents off balance.

2) Close control

3) Short opposite movements to create a yard of space.

4) dentify the space and accelerate into it

5) Balance and Strength to beable to hold off your defender.

Activity:

- 3 v 3 with (1) neutral player

(one team waiting on sideline)

- Free play

Progression:

- 5 v 5 (+ 1)

Coaching Points:

1) Can players beat their opponent 1 v 1 then look to make the pass to the next zone or score.

2) Be prepared to play under pressure

3) Less coaching, let them play.
