Juggling Challenge (15 mins)

SET UP:

Can be used when session cannot be delivered in desired space, ie weather forces group to go indoors.

Juggling challenges.

1) One bounce and a kick up (juggle) with stronger foot. Always allow a bounce between juggles.

2) Kick ups on stronger foot with no bounce.

3) One bounce and a kick up with weaker foot.

4) Kick ups on weaker foot with no bounce.

5) One bounce and a kick up with alternate feet ( strong, weak)

6) Kick ups on alternate feet with no bounce.

7) Kick up with foot and then knee on stronger foot.

8) Kick up with foot and then knee on weaker foot.

9) Combinations - Strong foot, knee, weak foot, knee etc

10) Shoulder and head to add to combinations.

Competitions to see most kick ups with strong foot, weak foot, combinations etc.

Use of whiteboard with challenges for children to mark off as they complete.

KEY POINTS:

1) Control of the ball, consistent touches.

2) Balance and shifting of weight to adjust to the ball.

3) Weight of touch.
