Stuck in The Mud (15 mins)

Split your field in half and have the game played on one half.

Players Start without soccer balls. For the first round have the coach play the mud monster. If the players get tagged by the mud monster they are "Stuck in the mud" If they are stuck in the mud they must stand still with their legs open. To become unstuck another players must pass thru the stuck players legs. The players should be encouraged to shout for help when stuck in the mud. After a few games have every player except the freeze monster get a ball.

The mud monster then has to tag or touch the soccer balls of the other players. If the mud monster touches your soccer ball you have to hold your soccer ball above your head and shout for help. To get unstuck one of the other players must put their ball thru your legs.

If game is too easy you can add another mud monster.

A2 D2 (15 mins)

Attack Two, Defend Two

The Game: Start without balls as a tag game. Players play 1v1 with the red team attacking the blue teams gates. The red team starts the game as the blue team can not move until the red team does, this may need some coach encouragement but the idea is to get players to go as soon as the round before them ends. Can the red team run through the blue teams gates with out getting tagged. After a certain amount of time the blue team will attack the red teams gates. After a few rotations with each team having a few turns at attacking introduce the balls.

Same idea with the balls except the blue player is trying to win the ball rather than tag. If blue wins the ball he/she should immediately try to attack the red gates. If the ball goes out of bounds, the next pair of players should begin the exercise. Attackers must dribble the gates to score (take a touch on other side of the gate). Focus:

•The red attacker should “run at the defender” or dribble out to confront the red defender.

•Feint in a particular direction to force the defender to shift in one direction.

•Accelerate past the defender and dribble through a gate.

•BE CREATIVE!

•Transition quickly on loss of possession.

A2 D2 With Balls (15 mins)

Now the red players have a ball and play the same game as before but now they are trying to dribble thru the gates.

Players must dribble thru gates and not just kick the ball thru the gate. Therefor players must take a touch on the other side of the gate.

Can blue defenders get out to red attackers fast and keep them away from the gates. If blue defender wins the ball then blue player can scorein the red teams goals.

Pirate's Treasure (15 mins)

Place all the balls (treasure) in the Treasure Island in center of the field. Split your players into teams of three or four and create a "pirate ship" (base) for each of the teams. These bases should all be the same distance from the Soccer balls.

When the coach starts the game one player from each team must run to the middle and use their feet to dribble one piece of treasure back to their pirate ship. When they return their ship they must 'high five' the next team mate so that he can go and get another piece of treasure.

When all the treasure has gone which ever ship has the most treasure is the winner.

You can then tell the players that the treasure is cursed and must be returned to the island using the same one player from each team method as before.

To progress this game when all the treasure from the middle has been collected players can go to other pirate ships and collect the treasure.

Players can not block/ or stop other players from taking the treasure. Have a countdown to end this version of this game. You may want to ask a parent to supervise each pirate ship to ensure that no blocking takes place.

Scrimmage (20 mins)

Split your players in two and have a home team staying on your field, and an away team playing on your neighbour’s field. Start two games of 3v3 on each field. Have the coaches and the subs in the middle of the two fields. When the ball goes out of bounds the coach yells "New Ball" and plays another ball onto the field
