Arrival activity

On arrival the players will work in groups of 4. 3 feeders and 1 executing different passing techniques

2 balls in each group with one of the three players (feeders) without a ball, the player working will receive ball to transfer to feeder without the ball.

Shadow Play

Formation is 1-3-1 v 1-3-1

Each team starts with ball and play unopposed.

Practice each pattern

Game: White team has a ball and play 3 touch, blue team intercept only. If blue team wins ball, decision attack quickly or retain possession.

Pattern 1:

All players have to touch the ball before attacking the goal.

Pattern 2:

1. GK - CB

2. CB - CM (8 or 10)

3. CM - DCM (4)

4. DCM - CF

Pattern 3:

1. GK - CM (8)

2. CM - ST

3. ST - CM (10)

4. Combine to finish

Technical detail (Att)

1. Tempo & purpose

2. Sending/receiving skills & body shape

3. Movement of central midfield - 1 clears, 1 goes and 1 comes to play

1. Pressure (nearest player) & body shape

3v1 As 3 play 1 stays in middle area - nearest player steps in and provides pressure from behind.

Can def step in and intercept? Deny space to turn and dribble.

Recieving back foot

Two serves act as wingers or FB.

Two CM work together with opposing two CM putting passive pressure on.

After switching once way they then switch roles.

Work on different moves and combinations to get it wide.

Objectives

2x 20x10 areas for 2v1s and 20x20 middle third for 2v2 plus two floaters - Teams play a game defending and attacking an end and the ball upon regain in middle third must be passed to a spare player.

Prog. Play 2v2 plus floater however def can now step out to regain against the attacking team leaving a 2v1?

Prog. CF can now drop into the middle third to regain on theback of the deepest player
