Description

Focus: Combining Topics and Learning Outcomes of S3 and S5. Affecting the player's decision when pressure (and cover) may be loose or tight, and how to break the defense line, via a move 1v1 or combination.

Amount of Pressure: Varies. High Press / Low Press

Type of Pressure:

High Press

> Pressure from behind.

> Pass the ball back to support player that is deep. Allow the defender to follow the pass and eat that space up. Get into the area the defender just left for the return on the double pass.

> Width - to stretch out the other team.

> Depth - to combine back and look to possess to penetrate.

> Length - created by combination and using the depth to get in behind.

Pressure's Loose

> Pressure in front.

> Turn and face. Commit player.

> Isolating a defender, in a 1v1 scenario where if needed player can combine with another teammate on a 2v1.

> Width - to stretch out the other team.

> Depth -

> Length -

Moves: (A) Shoulder Feint; (B) Inside-Outside.  * Outside touch = pass to teammate *

Decisions looking to affect:

1. Ability to identify amount of pressure being applied to the ball, as the player receives it.

2. Choice to open up on the back foot - closer to the opponent, or receive the ball on the front foot to protect the ball and shield it away from the defender.

3. Recognition of the second defender. Is the second defender in a good spot to cover the first defender if I beat him/her? If so, do Ihave a supporting player I can pass the ball to?

4. Mentality after passing the ball. Can you quickly signal to your teammate for a Give and Go to get around the defender, or support their run and prepare yourself for the cross?
