Skill Training (25 mins)

Organization:

* 3 Teams. 3 or 4 Teams of 4 pending on numbers.

* 3 x Teams to have different coloured bibs.

* 6 cones to mark grids. 2 end zones and middle Killer pass zone.

Explanation/Progression:

* Ball starts with Blue team in their end zone played in by the coach. One "Red" defender from "Killer pass" zone to enter area as a defender creating a 3v1.

* If Green team manage 5 passes, they must attempt the Killer pass through the middle zone to the blue team for a point. Red defender to return to middle zone with a new orange player to enter the blue’s end zone for another 3v1 and so on.

* Players off the ball must give option to ball carrier to the left/right as an option. (keep moving into new spaces). They should use the entire area with view of passer/receiver.

* First team to get three points can continue. Swap other end zone team with the Red defenders and continually rotate.

Player Actions:

* Focus on weight/speed of pass and to feet or in front of player.

* Take an extra touch before passing if needed.

* Middle players to slide and keep tight to create a realistic scenario.

* Players on opposite grid awaiting pass to be constantly moving/sliding to create good passing lanes for players on the ball. Constantly readjust.

* Focus on weight of passes, head up to ensure passing lanes are free, communicate visually and verbally with receiver and look to create good angle off the ball.

Step up/down:

* Reduce touches

* Amount of passes before you can score

* Add a defender and/or increase/decrease area size.

* If you have teams of 4 players, depending on ability, look at 4v2
