Organization:

Every Player with ball in 20x30 grid

Instructions:

50 touch game - players asked to compete/race to 50 touches of ball

-coach gives conditions like must use pinky toe, use both feet etc. to move ball

Coaching Points:

-Head up to see available space

-Keep ball close when in crowded area (can you take a touch every step you take)

-If see good area of space take bigger touch/accelerate into it

-Use correct dribbling technique (pinky toe touches, knee over ball)

Progressions:

-If lose ball outsode of area, or hot another player/ball you lose 10 counts in race to 50.

Warm Up (2)

Organization:

-20x30 yard grid

-3 defenders with pinnies in hand (shown as blue players)

-Every other player is attacker and has ball

Instructions:

-Attackers start with 10 points, defenders with 9.

-If defender touches an attackers ball or they force them to dribble outside of grid, they switch roles (attacker takes pinnie, defender takes ball) and the original attacker loses a point.

-No 'tag backs'

-Winner is player with most points after certain time period.

Coaching Points:

-Head up as dribble to observe space/defenders

-Ball close when defenders trying to steal ball, bigger touches when find space to go into

-Use body to protect ball as dribble

-Correct technique (knee over ball, pinky toes touches etc.)

Progressions:

Add or remove number of defenders depending on level of players

Organization:

20x30 yard grid

Every player starts with ball at 1 end line

Coach in middle of field

Instructions:

-On coaches command players must try to dribble past coach to opposite end line without having ball stolen from them or dribbling outside of area.

-If coach steals ball or player dribbles outside of area that player becomes a defender with coach when players try to come back the other way.

-last player/s left are the winners

Coaching Points:

-Head up as dribble to observe space/defenders

-Ball close when defenders trying to steal ball, bigger touches when find space to go into

-Use body to protect ball as dribble

-Correct technique (knee over ball, pinky toes touches etc.)

-Accelerate into the space behind defender when possible.

Progressions:

Change field dimentions so players have less/more space making activity harder/easier

Organization:

2 grids, 2 pugg goals per grid, separated and put in end corners

2 2x2 yard gate (1 per grid) opposite end of goals

Instructions:

-Split group into 2, 1 group per grid

-Attackers stand in gate with ball each waiting for turn to attack

-Attackers 1 at a time must try to score in either goal in there respective grid

-Defender tries to stop attacker scoring

-If defender stops attacker scoring by taking ball or forcing them out of area, or attacker misses goal, the attacker becomes the defeneder in that grid and the defender gets there ball and goes to back of the line to become an attacker.

-Every time score goal get a point, player with most points after certain amount of time is the winner.

Coaching Points:

-Head up as dribble to observe space/defender/position of goals

-Ball close when defenders trying to steal ball, bigger touches when find space to go into

-Use body to protect ball as dribble

-Correct technique (knee over ball, pinky toes touches etc.)

-Accelerate into the space behind defender when possible.

-Make decisive decisions, be positive and confident to attack space

Progressions:

Remove midline and have 2 attackers go at once against 2 defenders.

Organization:

2x 20x30 yard fields using pugg goals

Instructions:

-4 team tournament

-3 points for win, 2 for tie, 1 for loss

-restarts: kick ins not throw ins, corners = team starts with ball in their half of field

Coaching Points:

- Be creative and confident

Conditioned Game:

-Add a 5 yard score zone instead of goals, players must stop ball in zone by dribbling ball into it to score point.
