Warm Up (15 mins)

Warm Up: 20 x 20 area. Players must pass, then run out and touch a perimeter cone before they can receive another pass. Progress to players racing to 20 passes to raise the tempo. Incorporate moves like drag back, scissor etc.

3 v 2 (20 mins)

High Pressure Possession

15 x 15 Area. 3v2 keep away. Small area, combined with only one extra player on passing team will create extra defensive pressure.

-Emphasise playing with your head up. This will speed up decision making and increase the speed of passing.

-Players off the ball must work constantly to provide angles for the ball player.

- be aware of where other off the ball player is to avoid pursuing the same angle

- communicate visually and verbally

Trebles (25 mins)

Teams of 3, players can score in either goal. This game will force players to work hard to possess the ball on their own when they have it, and their partners will have to work extra hard to receive a pass since defenders will always outnumber attackers.

- make move into space before the ball even gets to the ball player

- make your move known to ball player

- play with head up when receiving to observe teammates' movements
