Organization: Rotational Grids. 3 field players and 1 GK per grid. Grids must be far enough apart that they do not interfere with eachother when the drill is reversed.

Instructions: Player A takes a touch and the players react accordingly. Player A passes to Player B who passes to Player C. Players B & C now play a give and go around the pole and Player B scores.

Coaching Points:

1) Talk about field positioning, where to receive the ball (high or low) to allow penetration or a pass back but not too far up as to allow the interception, depending upon the positioning of the defender.

2) Try to adjust body to open up, face forward and allow a back foot receipt of the ball and be able to play forward.

3) Talk about the pros & cons of front & back foot receiving & passing & when and where they are likely to be done based on pressure from a defender.

Players B & C must all communicate and open up passing lanes.

4) Passes must be played quick enough to allow player to escape the defender, too slow and it puts the receiver under pressure. Passes should eventually be so quick that they can draw defenders out of position.

5) Talk about passing lanes.

6) Talk about weight, accuracey and type of pass and where to play the pass depending upon positioning of the defender and also upon where you are trying to send the receiving player.

7) Body shape

8) Talk about why players use full width instead of standing in a line.

Progressions: Defenders can be added.
