Instruction

*dynamic warm-up followed by quick feet sessions

*working on change of direction type moves

*V-cut, L-turn, twist off, maradona, etc

Coaching Points

*Body Positioning

*Proper use of the foot, should you use the bottom or inside of the foot

*Focus on not just doing the move quickly but getting away quickly as well

1v1 Opposed 15min

Set Up

*2 goals for attacker to score on

*1 cone set up on and one in middle of grid

Instruction

*attacker dribbles in from side and once they have dribbled past the far cone they can attack

*After play the attacker becomes the defender and the defender chases the ball to get back in line

*Can the players use the new change of direction skills just learned in an opposed 1v1 situation

Coaching Points

*Prevent players from getting in the habit of beating the defender then trying to beat the same defender again and again before scoring.

*After creating space for themselves can they quickly decide to dribble to goal or pass to goal

2v1, 2v2 15-20min

Set Up

*For 2v1, 1 goal for the offense and 2 goals for defender to score on

*For 2v2, 1 goal per team

Instructions

*1st progression: player with the ball dribbles towards the defender while the player without runs behind teammate for the over lapping run (Switch points of attack afterr players understand the concept)

*2nd progression: Player with the ball passes to teammate to initiate the 2v1 scenario. The player that just passed the ball becomes the player making the overlapping run

Coaching Instructions

*Players ability to create space for their teammate to make an overlapping run

*Understanding of playing into space of attacker with the ball so teammate who is making an over lapping run can run onto the ball

*30x40yd

Instructions

*6v6 with keepers

*emphasize team build up play and working on the give and go from day one and the overlapping play from today

*Individually can players beat a player one on one with either of the change of direction skills from the days sessions to create space for themselves to either pass, dribble or shoot
