3v1 (Arrival Game) (10 mins)

3v1 Warm-up. (Olders play 3v2)

Rules:

- Have to call name of person you're passing to. .

Coaching Point: 3 step rule, always supporting your teammate.

Optional > Ball Mastery: 4 different moves.

sole-V's, Sole-behind, sole-outside, pull push, inside-sole, sole across, inside - outside cut, dribble cut, fake shot, etc.

1v1 moves: the hop, cut under, scissor, L move., Overs

1) Passing & Receiving (15 mins)

Passing & Receiving

Set-up: Half the players in middle with ball, half on the outside.

2 min each

1) Play and open up to receive across body. Switch Roles.

2) Play and spin off to receive it in space. Switch Roles

3) Play open up and wall-pass. Middle player goes to the outside now.

Coaching Points: Timing and spacing.

Combination 3v3+1 (15 mins)

Combination Game: 3v3+2 (if not enough numbers) or 4v4+2

Set-up: Field 20 x 15 (3v3+2) or 20 x 25 (4v4+2)

08 - 07's: 30 x 20 grid

Progression: 4 minute games. Losers have fitness.

1) 5 passes = 1 point.

2) Get one point whenever you successfully play one touch with teammate

3) Get one point everytime you do a combination (wall-pass) with your team.

4) Play game 3 again after making coaching points.

Coaching points: What should you do after you pass the ball? (introduce 3 step rule) Must pass and move. When you perform combination play, need to face up defender and pass and move around them.

For one touch game: players will want to force one touch passes all the time. Introduce decision making, when is the best time to one touch pass? (what should you do before receiving the ball to make this possible <peak>)

3v3 Flying Changes (15 mins)

2v2, 3v3 Flying Changes: GRID-44x36

Organization: 2 teams of equal players. 3v3 in the box to goal. Ball goes in the goal or out of bounds on the defending side and 3 new players dribble into the game. Play to 10.

Coaching Points- Finishing, combinations, speed of attack

Progression:

i. Can start off with 2v2 and progress to 3v3.

ii. Then play 2v2 with one striker and one defender from each team staying on the field the whole time for the duration of the game so that it's always 3v3. So we work on having a high striker and playing off them.

iii. 3v3 w/ one striker and one defender.

6v6/4v4's/8v8's Game (25 mins)

6v6 Game for GU9&GU10's. 8v8 for U11's. (30 minutes)

Scoring: 1) Players get one point if they score on goal, 2) if they switch the ball from one end to the other.

Things to Teach:

Throw-ins and when ball is in hand.

Coaching points:

Offensive team needs to have their forwards wide in their own half and they can start coming in the offensive half.

Important we teach them our number system and formation. We play a GK-2-1-2. With two defenders, one CM and two forwards.

Make sure you give them set positions.

Let's create 3 channels to naturally give them width.

2-10/15 minute halves.
