Crossing & Finishing (20 mins)

Organisation - 2 Teams attacking team have 4 players defending team have 2.

Whites attack the 2 Blue defenders first one player starts with the ball and dribbles through the cones whilst his opposite winger runs through them without a ball. Must then play a ball into the strikers feet for them to BOUNCE it back into the space for you to cross and attempt to score. Play then restarts with the blues becoming the attackers and the whites defending.

- Timing of run

- Quality of the cross

- Lift head up before crossing ( Can you find the spare man ? )

- Clever movements - Other winger do you stay wide or come inside ? Can you receive the ball in space ? Come under the ball

What type of cross are you going to do & why did you choose that cross ?

SSG - Conditions (20 mins)

Organisation - Must have a player in you attacking crossing areas at all time.

Teams can pick a rule for the opposing team. Each team plays with different rules.

Rule 1 - Crossing player can dribble using unlimited touches prior to crosses the ball in.

Rule 2 - Crossing player is limited to 2 touches prior to crosses the ball in. Crossing player is limited to 1 touch prior to crosses the ball in. This requires good measured passing on the set-up.

Rule 3 – An opposing player (i.e. defender) is allowed to enter the channels area and press or tackle the winger.

Rule 4 – Crossing players are now allowed (on receiving a pass in the channel) to dribble into the central playing area and cross or shoot.

Rule 5 – Goals can only be scored from a specific type of cross nominated by the coach (i.e. Near Post, Far Post, Cut Back).

Finally, the rules can be removed and have free play, with players allowed in any areas of the field. A goal counts double if it is initiated from one of the channels.
