Organization: - Establish a 5-yard open space between the paired players. Each pair needs 1 soccer ball.

Instructions: - Players pass the ball to each other ensuring it does not stop in the dead zone.

-Players compete to see how many consecutive passes they can complete in a 2-minute period

Progressions: (1). Use both feet. Keep the ball moving and don't let it stop in the dead zone. (2). Keep ball moving by pushing the ball across the body or to the side of the body so the ball doesn't stop. (3). Have the players use the "weak" foot only to increase accuracy and familiarity.

4v4 to Small Goals (20 mins)

4v4 (20wx30L yards) No goalkeepers. Play for 10 minutes, then water-break.

Objective: Challenge players to apply the dribbling skills they have practiced to create scoring opportunities. Introduce players to the Modified Laws of the Game for 4v4 in preparation for their first weekend of games.

Out of Bounds - Side Line: If the ball goes out of bounds, shout "Red Light" to keep players from chasing it. Place the soccer ball on the side line and allow the player to kick it on to the field to a teammate.

Out of Bounds - End Line: If the ball goes out of bounds, shout "Red Light" to keep players from chasing it. All players on the opposing team must regroup at the mid-field line. This is a new rule for 4v4 play to help encourage players to pass out of the back. The kicking team will place the soccer ball on the end-line and pass it to a teammate. Once the kicking team has played the ball, the opposing team may pressure.

Corner Kicks: When the defending team kicks the ball over the end-line, the other team will place the ball on the corner and kick it in. The defending team must be at least 4-5 yeards away from the ball.

Substitutions: Players should not be resting for long. If any players are out, you may sub at any time. Be sure to not let them sit for longer than 4-5 minutes.

Goals: Always celebrate goals scored! Encourage players to dribble and score.
