Passing Practice (5 mins)

Shape into a back 3 + 1 midfielder when floater is in possession.

Once ball has been played from one floater to the other get back into 3-1 shape to receive off your neutral

Positional Game (10 mins)

4 v 4 with floaters on each end.

Teams aim to keep possession and score by playing from floater to floater.

Can only pass to furthest floater once in attacking half but can use other floater as a GK in build-up.

Game Training (20 mins)

Set Up

Use 3/4 of a 9v9 field with goals at either end, a retreating line and a no go zone as shown in diagram.

How to Play

Starting Point - Red to over hit pass to GK

BLUE - Combine to score in goal at other end (must be inside shooting zone to score)

RED - Win the ball and score

All other football rules apply except no corners.

Player Tasks

#1 Look to play quickly to start a counter attack

Use your area to gain yards going forward

#2 & 5 Position yourself high and wide

Attacking first touch to play forward whenever possible

#4Be prepared to receive ball from GK or have back from FB

Look to play forward whenever possible

#6 & 8 One high and one short

Get on the ball facing forward whenever possible...if not, bounce the ball back or out the other side

#9 Stay high

Play on ball side of the field

Create space in front or behind with opposite movements

Set Up

Northland - 1-3-3-1

Opposition - 1-2-4-1

Include retreating lines.

How to Play

Normal football rules apply.
