Doctor Doctor (15 mins)

Equipment

- One (1) soccer ball per player

- Lined 18 yards box and 8 cones to make the two hospital or 14 cones to create a rectangle and two hospitals

- Six (6) pennies (or more if your group is bigger than 12 players.

.

Organization

The players are divided in two teams. From each team one player is the Doctor. This person does not have a ball. All the other players are the patients and they are in the 18 yard box. Every patient has a ball.

.

Instructions

The patients are dribbling around in the 18 yard box. While they dribble around they try to touch the ball of a player from the other team with their foot. If they succesfully touch the ball, the patient who's ball is touched is hurt and he will need a doctor to heal him. The patient who's ball is touched will pick up his ball and call for the doctor. The doctor will run from the hospital to the patient and tag the ball of the player, to heal the player. Once the player is healed the player drops his ball and dribbles around again. The other team will try to pass their ball into the doctor's leg to tag him. The doctor can only be tagged with a pass below the knees. If the ball hits the doctor above the knees all his patients are healed and the doctor gets a "free" walk back to the hospital

.

The game is over after 120 seconds or when the doctor of one of the teams is touched by a ball from the other team. If the game is over because of the time limit the team with the most patients in need of a doctor is the winning team.

.

Coaching remarks attackers

- Dribble around inside the field, keep the ball close so you can keep it away from the other team

- Do not get stuck in the corner, always try to dribble to open space

- When a player from the other team attacks you, try to shield the ball and dribble away from this player

- If you know a move, use this move to keep the ball away from the other team

.

Methodical steps easier

- Make the rectangle bigger. This will make it easier for the players to dribble around wihtout the ball getting touched by a player from the othter team.

.

Methodical steps harder

- Make the rectangle smaller. This will make it harder for the players to dribble around wihtout the ball getting touched by a player from the othter team.
