Warm up (20 mins)

Organization:

25 x 30

Two players with balls

Remaining players running around inside the grid

Balls around the outside

Instructions:

One player starts with balls and must pass the ball against the other players in the grids

If players get hit they are now apart of the passing team

Players can only pass below the players knees (to ensure safety)

- One extra ball for every 2 players

Coaching Points:

- Surface area of the foot players are looking to pass with

- Do players recognize distances (Can they alternate between driven passess and short passes)

- Is standing foot pointed for direction

- Are players passing the ball with a locked foot

- Can players figure this out for themselves? (Maximum repitions if they do)

Progressions:

- Finally play with only one ball (Making players pass quicker to achieve their target)

Main Theme 1 (15 mins)

Organization:

25 x 30 grid

Players at four corners

Balls at each corners ( In case of mistakes)

Instructions:

- Players play pass down the line and follow pass

- Players receive another pass

- Players then play a driven pass across to the corner

- Players rotate to next cone

Coaching Points:

- Inside of the foot to pass

- Locked angle for hard pass

- Shorter passes need to be weighed correctly

- Is body being opened correctly

- Are players standing foot helping direction

Progressions:

- Can it be done in 1 touch?

Main Theme 2 (30 mins)

Organization:

- Diamond cones 15 yards apart

- Players at all four cones

- Each player must have a ball

Instructions:

- Each player at a cone they must pass and move

- The rotation goes A TO B, B TO A, A TO C, C TO A, A TO C

- This rotation is then repeated on the opposite side

Coaching Points:

- Firstly understand rotation

- Can players execute pass with the inside of their foot

- Is their ever the possibility to use any other type of pass (Outside of their foot, Laces etc)

- Are players making eyec contact before making the pass

- Are players judging the appropiate strentgh to use

Progressions:

- Add gates for players to pass through

- Can players do it in 1 touch

Main theme 3 (25 mins)

Organization:

Players in a 10 by 10 grid

3 attacking players 1 defender

1 ball per group

Balls on the outside

Instructions:

Players keep ball away from defnder using their passing techniques

Coaches decide whenever defnders must switch

Coaching Points:

Can players use the appropiate techniques like they learned in the unopposed techniques

Progressions:

It will be 2 10 x 10 grids together. We will combine the grids and then play 20 x10 with 6vs 2

This will be another 10 minutes of playing time

Conditioned Game (30 mins)

Organization:

Filed split into 3 sections

Teams split into 3 teams

1 ball in the field coach will have balls around the corner

Instructions:

- Players must complete a certain number of passes before making the switch of play

- Defending players must attempt to win the ball. They score a point by winning the ball and play a pass back to the defenders

Coaching Points:

- Players need to understand their differnt types of passes

- Can players recognize when to make that switch

- I stheir technique still correct?

Progressions:

Limit touches
