Warm up Coach says (10 mins)

Organization:

30x30 square

1 ball per player

Instructions:

coach performs a skill (dribbling fundamentals) and the players copy

Coaching Points:

1 - Head up to observe space

2 - small touches to keep close control.

3 - bigger touches to move around the square quicker

4- execution of task & listning skills

cars (15 mins)

Organization:

1.30 x 30 yard area set up as shown

2.12 players set up as shown

3.12 balls

Story/Description:

1.Each driver’s (player) car (ball) is parked in one of the four parking garages

2.When the coach yells “clockwise” all the cars have to be driven in a clockwise direction to the new parking garage

3.When the coach yell’s “counter-clockwise” all the cars have to be driven in a counter-clockwise direction to the new parking garage

4.When coach yells “Criss Cross” all cars must be driven to the opposite corner

Coaching Points:

1.close control

2.speed up when you have space slow down when theres traffic

3.change direction

4.head up

5.identify space

5.stop & start on command

Developments:

1.P – The police (coach) try to get the cars when they are between parking garages

2.P – Add sitting traffic (tall cones) around the area so that cars must find new routes

City Traffic (15 mins)

Organization:

30x30 area

Players with ball

3x3 yard sqaure in the middle

4 pug goals (gas stations)

Instructions:

players in 4 teams they must dribble out 1by1 through the midle zone as cars,

they must avoid traffic in the middle honking their horn and then using there feet to change direction then score in the pugs,when they score they must now run back to their team .

the team that has scored all there goals and got back first wins

Coaching Points:

1.close control

2.speed up when you have space slow down when theres traffic

3.change direction

4.head up

5.identify space

5.stop & start on command

Progressions:

Add cones for players to go around, jump ect.

Add goals to shoot as end product

3 v 3 or 4 v 4 small sided games (20 mins)

Organization:

1. Area size 30 x 25.

Instructions:

1. Players split up into 4 teams and play a round robin tournament where all teams play.

2. players must not step inside the red cone areas infront of goal this will stop goal tending ,the players must shoot from out side the area also

Coaching Points:

over the 8 weeks we would like to start to implement:

1. 3 lines of attack, 1 defender, 1 midfielder, 1 forward.

2.Team mates create gaps, can player in possession look to dribble into them.

3.when to Dribble,Pass or Shoot

Restarts

(week 4) the restarts will be played in with a kick in for kindergartners (coaches demo correct technique) the recieving player will control the ball and play a pass back to the kick in players feet ,the game will then go live allow the first pass to be free so the recieving player can work on control then end product
