Warm up (15 mins)

Instruction: Warm up Possession Rondo

Divide into two equals.

The objective is to retain the ball for as long as possible, observing the positioning of the players, the creation of space and decision making of players.

No goals, count the amount of passes until possession is lost.

Main Theme (20 mins)

Instructions:

10 cones set up in two lines of 2 meters apart - Each player with a ball

Focus Points:

-Right foot only inside & outside cuts

-Left foot only inside & outside cuts

-Backwards roll using both feet

-Forward roll using both feet

-Inside Sole Roll

Coaching Points

-Speed, game speed

-Keeping the ball close - small touches

-Head up

-Using all parts of the foot

SSG (20 mins)

Instructions:

1.The activity starts with equal amount players in each area

2.Players then attempt to knock out each others ball while maintaining possession of their own ball

3.If a player gets knocked out of their area, they join the other area

4.If a player ends up in one area on their own, they’re the winner

Coaching Points:

1.Head up

2.Close control of the ball

3.Soft touches

Shielding:

Stand sideways

-Don’t stand backwards. The defender will poke his foot between

your legs.

Stand sideways to put more space between the ball and the defender.

Move the ball to the foot farthest awayfrom the defender.

- Put your arms out

Putting your arms out with helps you keep balance, creates more space between the ball and the defender, and lets you feelthe defender., Clenched Fist - Makes your arms more rigid
