1 v 1 warm up 10' - groups of ten each at a 8 x 8 grid

Elect a player and defender to start. Goal is to dribble across grid, if successful the next player will enter and the defender defends again. Defender's goal is to push attacker out of grid on either side. Whatever line the ball crosses that attacker will attempt to dribble across grid.

Encourage creativity and quick transition. Players must be paying attention on their toes and have a ball at their feet to ensure they are ready to react

Transition Game (30 mins)

8 v 8 valencia drill 20' - players play against each other in a 8 v 8 game. This game can also be played 9 v9 or whatever the numbers of players that are available. The idea of the game is to score as many goals as possible. Its an open game of football and starts and stops at the coaches discretion. reds will start with possession of the ball inside there section of the pitch with blues aiming to regain possession and switch to opposition half. Player on the outside of the pitces are supporting players for there colored team, the outside players can not come onto pitch nor can the players in the the inside of the pitch go into the suporting players zone. they must try and use the supporting player to create a nummerical advantage. so in this instance above the 5 reds have three reds supporting them on the outside. if for example the blues win the ball. they switch it down to the other half of the pitch and now the blues have the numerical advantage as supporting players can only stay in one half of the pitch at all times. The players in the center are constantly having to run up and down to either attack or defend.

After the last ball is scored or dead the coach will send in 5 balls one at a time. Whichever team has scored the most goals will win the round.
