Dynamic Warmup (10 mins)

Organization:

-Two Seperate Dynamic Warmups

Dynamic Warmup A

-Two lines

-Each line is made up of cones 4 steps apart each

Dynamic Warmup B

-Six cones set up 1 step apart each

Each exercise is performed twice

Instructions:

Dynamic Warm up A

-Jog x2

-High Knees x2

-Butt Kicks x2

-Two Step Shuffle x2

-Two Step Shuggle Backwards x2

-Open the Gate x2

-Close the Gate x2

Dynamic Warm up B

-Shuffle between cones x2

-Both feet in and over going forward x2

-Both feet in and over going sideways

-Proper body mechanics for each movement

Developmental Repitition (10 mins)

Organization:

-Partner up

-One ball between them

-Stand 20-30 yards

Instructions:

-Players will practice hitting a Lofted and Driven ball to one another

-Go over how to strike each one

-This is developmental repitition as the girls have done both of these passes before.

Coaching Points:

Lofted

-lean back as you strike ball

-strike under the ball to get it to rise

Driven

-strike through the center of the ball

-instep/laces to strike the ball with power and speed

Semi Opposed crossing (10 mins)

Organization:

-As Show

Instructions:

-RD and RM play passing comibination of give and go to play ball down the line allowing RD to run down line to get cross off.

-FW, AM, DM make overlapping runs to goal covering near and far post

-Rotation between RD and RM

-Rotate between FW, AM, DM

Coaching Points:

-weight of ball played down the line

-be able to strike ball one or two touches

-Angle and speed of runs from attackers

opposed Crossing (10 mins)

Organization:

-Same as before

-Add defender

Instructions:

-With defender covering one of the runners it now becomes responsibility of the crosser to use either driven ball or lofted ball to beat defender.

Coaching Points:

-When and where to use lofted/driven pass

Lofted: When defender has covered near post, and you need the ball in behind

Driven: When defender has back post covered, and you get ball in fast and low to front post

Progressions:

- Add a second defender,

-This allows FW to delay run and get the ball at the top of the 18
