Warm-up (10 mins)

Organization:

1. Set up as shown.

Instructions:

1. Teams play 4v1 inside grid.

2. One defending player. Player that loses possession of the ball switches roles with the defending player.

3. If 6 or more passes are completed, defending player stays defending one more round.

4. Perform dynamic streches inside grid:

-High Knees.

-Open Gate.

-Close Gate.

-Side Shuffles.

-Frontal leg kicks.

-Backwards leg kicks.

- Backwards Shuffle (check over shoulders)

-High Jump Sprint.

Coaching Points:

1. Prepare players for session key points.

2. Maintain posession of the ball.

3. Scan the field before receiving the ball.

4. Quality of 1st touch & Pass.

Technical Repetitions (20 mins)

Organization:

1. Set up as shown (12x18)

2. Three Groups of 4 players per grid.

3. Player 3 yds from blue cone.

Instructions:

1. CB plays the ball to LM

2. LM takes 1st touch forward,dribbles to flag,performs turn and

passes ball to CB

3. CB shows behind the ball and receives pass from LM

4. CB takes 1st touch towards RM.

5. Continue pattern. (waiting player changes roles after two switches)

*** When ball is played to LM. RM will check into the middle (viceversa)

Technique

- Accuracy & Pace of pass

- Pass to the far foot to improve speed of play

Movement

- Create Depth (Behind the ball at an angle - Sideways on)

- Create Witdh ( Feet on line - Sideways on)

Decision

- Check over shoulder before receiving to create habit of Scanning the field.

Organization:

1. Area as shown (25x18)

1. 3v3 with target player (CF)

Instructions:

1. Players play 4v4 (Two grids)

2. Teams receive points by making pass to target player.

3. After point teams that scores starts with ball with CB.

Conditioned game (20 mins)

Organization:

1.6v6 (1-3-1)

2. Area as shown: 7 yds - safe zone / 35x 35 field

Instructions:

1.Teams play6v6

2. Safe zone is for CB to provide depth in safe zone (no defender can go inside this zone)

3. Shots can be taken from anywhere in the field.

Coaching Points:

Technique

- Pass to the far foot to improve speed of play

Movement

- Create Depth (Behind the ball at an angle - Sideways on)

- Create Witdh ( Feet on line - Sideways on)

Decision

- Check over shoulder before receiving to create habit of Scanning the field. Where is pressure?
