Race

During this drill the coach shouts a number and starts running towards the responding ball. The coach (attacker) should put pressure on the ball/GK but to start with not actively try to attack the GK.

2 Players with 2 Options

The GK starts facing into the goal (1).

The coaches should decide which coach will dribble or shoot without letting the GK know. After this one of the coaches can move out of the box to to allow the GK to cover one angle.

This can be progressed to both coaches standing in the box to force a close range reaction save.

The coach can either take a first touch low shot, or try to dribble the ball around the GK.

Break Aways

The coach passes the ball infront of him to start the drill.

The coach then runs towards the goal to start a 1v1.

To start with the coach should only be try to dribble the ball into the goal.

To progress the session the coach can start to shoot once past the cones.

To further progress the session the coach can shoot once inside the box.

If the GK wins the ball they can be encouraged to release the ball through 1 of the coned gates as a defensive release.
