Organisation:

-6x6 Squares x 4

-3v1 in Each Square

-Supply of Balls

Aim:

-Keep the ball away from the defender.

-If the defender wins the ball, the player who gave it away becomes the new defender.

Blocked Shooting Practice (15 mins)

Ball passed to Shooter who takes a touch then shoots.

Two Touch / 2 Seconds

Passer becomes Shooter, Shooter joins back of line after retrieving football.

Two teams - Competition.

Coaching Points:

-Good First Touch out of Feet

-Eye on Ball / Head over Ball

-Choose Area to Strike the Ball

-Choose Surface to Use - Sidefoot = Accuracy - Laces = Power

-Follow through to Target

As soon as ball is passed, defender can charge out to try and block.

Midfielder becomes defender after playing through pass and chases attacker to put pressure on.

Attacker must move onto the ball, dribble and get shot off quickly before defender catches and tackles.

SSG (30 mins)

7vs7

2 Common players in the wide areas.

.

Aim:

One point is scored by switching the play from one common player to another whilst playing through a central player.

Three points are scored by scoring a goal.

.

Rules:

Common players can't be tackled.

Common players only have 3 seconds on the ball.

Normal Football Rules apart from these.

.

Coaching Points:

-Can the players understand that Numerous switches of play will score lots of points but also move the opposition out of their shaoe and create space.

.

-Not always the best option to try to score a goal straightaway - patience.

.

-Can central players move off the ball to be available for a pass from a common player who only has 3 seconds on the ball

.

-Can we take shooting opportunities and try to take some of the coaching points across from the Shooting Session.
