Rhythmic (10 mins)

Organization:

1 ball and cone per player.

Instructions:

Coach in the middle of the area leading the rhythmic warm up, players look to touch the ball in time with the rhythm the coach sets.

Coaching Points:

1. Rhythm and co-ordination of movements

2. Movement of hips

Instructions:

Same set up but now the coach is looking for more specific movements based upon session topic.

Dribbling Technique (10 mins)

Organization:

6 cones, 3 lines, 3 players per area.

Instructions:

Players dribble to either cone on the middle line and perform the scissor/roll push.

Coaching Points:

1. Using correct feet to attack space around defender

2. Angle of movement by facing and opening up body/roll past defender in 1 o'clock to 11 o'clock (vice versa for opposite foot)

Progressions:

Addition of semi-opposed defender

1 vs 1 Conditioned Game (15 mins)

Organization:

Players split in half, 2 cones where teams start and 1 end zone. Each players has a ball.

Instructions:

Teams take it in turns to try and score (stopping ball in end zone) as soon as ball goes out opposition team attacks. After you attack you defend, after you defend you get the ball and go back to your team.

Coaching Points:

1. Get in line to receive the ball and Head up to locate goal

2. Recognition of defender (speed of approach)

3. Choice of which goal to attack based on defender's pressure

4. Quick decision to perform move

5. Head up to find goal, seal off defender after move and accelerate to goal
